yesterdays reef bite was very good despite the heat. The only problem was we had to weed through little snappers to find a limit of decent fish. All the grouper were small. 07-14-2009 3:59:56 AM EST
fished on the reef yesterday morning nice gentle breeze to keep it cool. we caught a limit of yellowtail and mangrove snapper, but we had too work hard for them. 07-12-2009 5:25:35 AM EST
Well Dennis took his father out to celebrate his 64 birthday yesterday, and told me he wanted to catch yellowtail. I think the only issue was that we caught mangrove snapper also!!!! The reef bite was again just incredible. 07-10-2009 4:54:23 AM EST Well I took a busman's Holiday yesterday, and fished with Hockeypuck on his boat. We went offshore in search of dolphin, we found several schoolies, and a pair that had a combined wieght of about 60 pounds! It was enjoyable morning offshore. We stopped on the reef on the way in, and limited out on snappers rather rapidly. A three pound mangrove was the largest of the snappers. It was fun fishing on "Dr. Sold 2" 07-09-2009 4:16:15 AM EST Another fabulous day on the reef yesterday. The mangrove snapper bit relentlessly for about 45 minutes, enough for a limit on 2 to 4 pound fish, and than the yellowtail decided they were hungry, and the rest of the snapper limit was rapidly filled. 07-08-2009 3:47:38 AM EST Well that was reef fishing at its finest!!!! Yellowtail and mangrove snapper, fast action on nice fish!!!! what a fantastic morning!!! 07-07-2009 3:42:38 AM EST Not as many yellowtail yesterday, but still more than enough!!! Some nice fat mangrove snapper were mixed in also. Brandon held onto a large fish for a while, but his little brother Shane showed him how to land a ten foot long shark!!! Nice job boys! 07-06-2009 4:04:26 AM EST Another fantastic day yellowtailing!!! More mutton snapper mixed in also!!!! We also caught and released a four foot baracuda, some small red, and black grouper, and some cero mackeral. What a fun morning!!! 07-04-2009 6:40:32 PM EST Well todays conditions were perfect for yellowtailing!!!! We had a limit very quickly!!! Also a pleasant surprise was several mutton snappers mixed in. Nice half day!!! Greg also landed a 50 pound Goliath Grouper, which was released unharmed!!! 07-03-2009 4:07:35 PM EST Well there was no current this morning!!! a little bit of gravity. We managed several large (3 #'s) yellowtail snapper before they quit biting. Than we moved and caught our limit of snapper rabidly, and came in out of the heat early!!! 07-02-2009 3:10:24 PM EST The rain and wind slowed dow a little bit today!!!! Too much current for the larger yellowtails, but the smaller ones committed suicide. We also caught several short grouper today, a reef shark, and a large green sea turtle was released unharmed!!!! 06-19-2009 5:23:38 AM EST Yesterday we sat on the reef and caught lots of yellowtails.. The first spot we caught two to four pound fish, the second spot finished off our limit with two pounders. The second spot also gave up a five pound mangrove... Good job Alan! 06-19-2009 5:21:06 AM EST Weds (6-17) we went offshore in search of dolphin. It was a slaughter, we caught a nice limit of dolphin ranging from 6 to 18 pounds. There will be some fish fry's for the Zimmerman's up in Pittsburg!!!! Nicely done folks!!! 06-17-2009 3:41:19 AM EST Saturdays trip for yellowtail was successful, for both us and the predators. I think the predators were over their limit though!!!!! 06-17-2009 3:39:15 AM EST Last Sunday's trip was an interesting event. Could not fish where we wanted because the reef was covered with baby dolphin. They were biting bare hooks, sinkers, and even bait dangling out of the water. They were frustrating, so I moved caught aot of small yellowtails, than moved back into the deeper water. There was no current in the deep, and the only fish biting there were 6 inch yellowtail. 06-17-2009 3:35:10 AM EST Mondays fishing was good for the yellow tails despite no wind. There were no predators, so we managed to put a nice bunch of three to four pound fish together. Ended up on the patches, that were alive with short grouper , short muttons, short yellowtail..... 06-17-2009 3:31:31 AM EST Well yesterdays yellowtailing started of with a bang, several large fish right off the bat. It was a tease, they got lock jaw. We than had to than move into the patches to find more action. Crystal clear water kept us just shy of our limit of snapper. 06-07-2009 2:33:55 PM EST Today we fished on the reef and caught some very nice yellowtail. There were a bunch of dolphin swimming down the reef also, we managed to get a few keepers, the school size was much smaller than previously. What an absolute blast!!!! 06-07-2009 2:31:45 PM EST Friday was another banner day offshore. We limited out on dolphin, nothing big, but all 8 to 15 pound fish. Tremendous job Adam and Arthur!!!! 06-07-2009 2:30:06 PM EST
Thursday's fishing on the reef was an absolute dream. We anchored up, and started to yellowtail, and we had too fight the dolphin off the hooks!!!! We had several schools of dolphin swim by, mostly 6-8 pounders, with a couple of twelves mixed in. Oh yeah, the yellowtail was fantastic with monster fish up to 27 inches!!!!!! 06-07-2009 2:27:09 PM EST
Last Weds the weatherman lied too us, but we still managed to get offshore, and find the dolphin!!! Had a nice catch of schoolies to 15 pounds, and one 24 pound bull. Nice job Allan! 05-27-2009 3:49:44 AM EST Mon was a great day on the reef, got a nice limit of yellowtail snappers. The sharks were agressive, but we won. Nice job Al, Lou, and Wade! 05-27-2009 3:48:01 AM EST Sun was a beautiful day off shore, caught a limit of schoolie dolphin, and was back at the dock early. Summer is here, yeah!!!! 05-27-2009 3:46:29 AM EST Well last Sat we struggled to catch some yellowtail, they were very nice size fish, but we were shy of our limit. PREV
