well yesterday's fishing vwas not all that great.  The best catch was back at the dock when I swam for a set of car keys that fell in.  doubt the remote locks work on that one!!!!  We did manage about twenty yellowtail, and three nice grovers, but worked very hard for our fish.

what a beautiful day on the reef yesterday, a gentle breeze and some cloud cover kept it pleasant.  we caught a bunch of nice yellowtails, and managed to sneak several flags past the men in grey, who decided to feed ferociously ate the end!

Yesterday,s fishing was good, weather was better than it has been recently!  Arthur landed a 21 # balack grouper' and Adam caught a 24 1/2" yellowtail. Most  of the other yellowtail were not as big, but we rounded off the snapper limit with several 2-4 # mangrove. an 8# cero was headed for the smoker, along with a few more of his smaller buddies.

Well the grouper ban must be working!!!!!!!!  We threw back four keepers again today, and were fishing for yellowtail!!!  Where is this data coming from?????  We cuaght all different size grouper, and different species of them, blacks reds and lots of gag.  A slot limit, or one per boat might be a better solution. At least we did not SEE the Goliath grouper eating everything we threw back today.......

I do not understand the grouper ban, there is no shortage of grouper out there.  Righ down to yesterday when we had sevelal Goliath grouper balled up like yellowtail, eating our mangrove snappers and groupers....... Are the groupers we throw back even making it to the bottom?  Didn't appear to be yesterday......

Well sorry I haven't posted anything in awhile.  Everyone that is here knows the fishing has been fantastic, the weather has much room for improvement though.  Went through a rebuilt engine and new transmission, and now just trying to sneak out when the weather permits us too to pay for it.  We landed several grouper before the ban wen into effect on Jan 1, and Julie was quite pleased.  With the cold snaps, we have been catching alot of mangrove and yellowtail snapper, and I am sure in a day or two the kings and muttons will show back up in numbers.  It was sad to see all the dead mutton and black grouper this week that could not adapt to the cold........

I forgot about Lenn'ys cobia, we had a small pod of cobia come up in the chum slick, we caught and released five of them.  They were all about 30 inch fish, not quite big enough, but fun on ten pound tacle!!

Well yesterday's weather was absolutely perfect, not too hot, not too cold not too windy.  Just right!!!  We had all the yellowtail snappers you wanted behind the boat, but the exciting part of the day was the huge mangrove snappers that were cooperating!!!!  We ended the day with muttons snappers, mangroves (several that were pushing eight pounds) and a nice big Hogfish to end the day.

We didn't have as much current yesterday, but the snappers were still voraciously feeding. We limted out rather quickly with 15 inch yellowtails, and were in early to wath the Dolphins win!

The reef was alive yesterday!  We caught snapper grouper, mackeral, amberjacks, triggerfish, surgeonfish, houndfish, and blue runners.  We had some trouble fighting the wind and current which were against each other, and some porpoise were feeding on our hooked up snapper, but we still did manage a limit of nice yellowtail and mangrove snapper.

What another beautiful day on the water!!  It did not get hot until we got back to the dock and were filleting the bounty!  We had a great time on the flag yellowtails right on up to 24 inches. The first fish of the day was on Lynn's first cast, and she boated a seven pound black grouper to start the day off right. The day continued with large yellowtails and a mutton snapper. Nice job folks!
